Once again, the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) security group COGAR has been recognized with the Center of Excellence Award.
“The Cogar Center of Excellence Award is awarded annually to a security operations center or installation that is contracted by COGAR in the National Capital Region,” said Wilbur Dargan, COGAR site lead for Aegis BMD.
“It is awarded for providing customers with outstanding security services by demonstration high standards of achievement and meeting expectations for efficiency and service, based on customer feedback.”
The Center of Excellence Awards from Falls Church-based Cogar Group, Ltd., are determined through a comprehensive criteria. “Selection of the Cogar award is based upon a multi-phased process, according to Cogar requirements, that is performed over the course of a year,” said Dargan.
“The process involves evaluation, audit of performance in the area of client satisfaction, security officer training, leadership and work environment feedback.”
Dargan credited COGAR employees at the Aegis BMD site for their continued success. “The award program originally began in 2009 and thus far we’ve won the award since then,” he said.
“Success we believe is derived from initially selecting the proper employee, then sincerely caring for them with the application of good quality leadership.”
Dargan named each of the 25 COGAR security officers at Aegis BMD who contributed to the successful year. Byron Bailey, Billy Brown, Faye Brown, Randall Creed, Clauvenda Fenwick, Brian Flanagan, Donna Jean Fraysee, Pamela Hall, Angela Hammond, Brian Hodges, Doris King, Terry Lee Lanham, Cleveland Lewis, Joseph Lizyness, George Mading, Gary Palmer, Sonia Paker, Angelita Saunders, James Sharon, Denise Shepard, Kevin Smith, Albert Taylor, Louis Xavier Thomas, Eric Walker and Jason Zizelberger all contributed to the 2012 Center of Excellence Award, said Dargan.
In addition, Pamela Hall was selected as COGAR’s Officer of the Year.
“Our success derives from the officers who are on the ground that work day in and day out with the customers,” Dargan added. “We strive daily to provide the Missile Defense Agency 110 percent of our efforts and energy. Our leadership focuses on our officers by training on ways to bring out the best in them which matriculates back out to our customers.”
